HOW THE JUDGING WORKS

Two experienced critiquers and published authors of the Chicago-North RWA® Chapter will score each entry in the first round.

Any entry receiving a point spread of more than 20 points where the highest score is at least 80 percent of the total possible points, will receive a third judge and the lowest of the three scores will be dropped.

The top three entries in each category will be judged and ranked by an editor or agent in the final round.

A TESTIMONIAL from
Rachel Renee Russell

“Participating in Fire & Ice was the motivation I needed to take my manuscript and writing to the next level.  I received excellent critiques from your judges and a lot of encouragement.

That manuscript evolved into Dork Diaries:  Tales from a Not-So-Fabulous Life.  It spent 7 weeks on the NYT Bestseller List and my publisher, Simon & Schuster, just purchased Books 3 and 4.”
