Sherril Bodine's romantic comedy TALK OF THE TOWN is a single title finalist for The Beacon Award.  Her next book, A BLACK TIE AFFAIR, will be released January 2010.

Marilyn Brant is writing a short article for Romantic Times Book Reviews that will appear in the October 2009 issue.

Laurie Brown  A good review for What Would Jane Austen Do? made it into Publishers Weekly magazine.

Simone Elkeles sold the sequel to PERFECT CHEMISTRY and another young adult novel to Emily Easton at Walker (Kristin Nelson, agent).  PERFECT CHEMISTRY also sold at auction to Bertelsmann/Random House, for German rights to be published in Germany.  In February, PERFECT CHEMISTRY went into its 3rd printing.

Blythe Gifford's book INNOCENCE UNVEILED placed second in the Historical category of the More than Magic contest sponsored by Romance Writers Ink.

Maureen Lang’s book My Sister Dilly is a fiction club pick at DearReader.com.

Carrie Lofty's short story, "Sundial," will appear in the Through the Garden Gate Anthology, which wil be released in print December 4, 2009 from The Wild Rose Press.

Myrna Mackenzie's book, Her Millionaire, His Miracle (her November 2008 Harlequin Romance), won the Booksellers Best Award.

Morgan Mandel will self-publish her next book, Killer Career.  Her blog talk radio program is on Sundays at 4 p.m. (sometimes 8:30 p.m.). Check it out at: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/booksandblogs

Courtney Milan received a new book cover for Proof By Seduction.  She also has a plan for excerpt booklets for distribution at the RWA National Conference (The Dangerous Book of Excerpts with Tessa Dare).  Her first novella, “This Wicked Gift” will be out on October 1, 2009, in The Heart of Christmas anthology.

Mary Alice Monroe signed a new contract with Pocket Books (Kim Whalen and Robert Gottlieb, agents).  TIME IS A RIVER is a nominee for Southeastern Independent Booksellers Best Book 2009.  TURTLE SUMMER, a children's book, was awarded the ASPCA award for Picture Books.  She also received the South Carolina Center for the Book Award for Writing, the state’s highest writing award, for 2008.

Nancy Parra has a release date for Dream Man—January 8, 2010 from The Wild Rose Press.  She also posted a 4-part series on writing queries on her blog: www.nancyjparra.blogspot.com.

Allie Pleiter's historical, MASKED BY MOONLIGHT, is a finalist in the American Christian Fiction Writer's Book of the Year Contest.  This marks her third straight year of finaling in the ACFW awards!

Ellen Wehle’s poetry collection, The Ocean Liner’s Wake, will be out September 2009 from Shearsman Books.

Merrillee Whren's February 2008 book, FOUR LITTLE BLESSINGS, is a finalist in the FCRW Published Beacon contest and placed third in the More Than Magic Contest in the sweet contemporary category.  In addition, she recently signed a new three-book contract with Steeple Hill.  The first book in the series, HOMETOWN PROMISE, will be out in February 2010.
